Why the 3 sizes? Often, it’s a manufacturer’s choice – almost all lines have both a 20 and a 22", but as the features are so similar, we’ve included all sizes in this section.
The 20 and 21", when non-expanded, are ideal for a larger size carry-on piece. Many have exterior pockets convenient for reading material, tickets, and more.
Some 22" wheeled travel luggage is considered too large for carry-on approval. If this is an essential need, check to ensure your luggage is at or below these dimensions: 22 x 14 x 9".
Also, make sure that if your luggage is expanded, it still falls under these guidelines.
You may have seen luggage rolling past you in the airport that was slightly larger than a traditional carry-on size – chances are, you saw a piece measured at 22 x 14 x 10" and that traveler was flying first class.
